Dr. Bellani is the Senior Lecturer at Department of Neurosciences, Biomedicine and Movement Sciences, Section of Psychiatry, University of Verona; Deputy Director of the Research Unit Brain Imaging and Neuropsychology (Director Prof. Paolo Brambilla), at Department of Neurosciences, Biomedicine and Movement Sciences, Section of Psychiatry, University of Verona; Senior Registrar at the Section of Psychiatry of AOUI Verona; and Senior member of Interuniversity Center for Behavioural Neurosciences Verona-Udine-Milano.
Dr. Bellani received her Italian Medical Doctor Degree at the University of Bologna in 2003. She received her Specialist in Psychiatry at the University of Verona, in 2007. She received her PhD in Psychological and Psychiatric Sciences at the University of Verona in 2012. She received her Italian National Scientific Qualification as Associate Professor in Psychiatry in 2014.
Dr. Bellani has received several awards and honors including, Best Poster Innopsy 2007- Clinical research special award, reviewer of several international scientific journals, Associate Editor of the Journal of Affective Disorder, Scientific Board Member of European Psychiatric Association (EPA ) Neuroimaging Section, and Official Member of Italian Institute for Neurosciences (INN), Sezione di Verona.
Dr. Bellani’s main research interests include Biological correlates of psychiatric diseases: MRI applications in Psychiatry, DTI, functional connectivity, MRS, computational analyses, Resting State, Machine Learning Pathophysiology and neuroplasticity of psychotic and mood disorders, neurocognitive and immunological profiles of psychiatric illnesses, and cognitive remediation and enhancement.
Since 2004, Dr. Bellani has been a member of the Brain Imaging Neuropsychology Unit (coordinator: Prof. Paolo Brambilla) and of ICBN Interuniversity Centre for Behavioural Neurosciences Verona-Udine-Milan. Dr Bellani has been working on the biological underpinning of major psychoses ( using PWI, DTI, fMRI). Since 2009, as Deputy Director of the Research Lab, she has been supervising and promoting with Prof Brambilla national and international research networks for specific neuroimaging topic of interest: freesurfer, resting state, fmri, DTI and TBSS, MRS, neuro-immunology, imaging-genetic, pattern recognition, machine learning and cognitive remediation for psychosis.
